Strip Hard Returns from Document

The Hard Return Stripper allows you to convert a text document with line and paragraph breaks to one with just paragraph breaks which you can then copy to the main Text Formatter Plus window.  It will also clean up emails that have been replied to and have sections of quoted text.

To access this, click the HardReturnStripperIcon icon in the main toolbar or go to Menu -> Tools -> Hard Return Stripper.  The Hard Return Stripper will open in a new tab to the right of the Snippets tab.

You can either open MF_Open an existing document or paste from the clipboard MF_Paste.  Your text will appear in the editor in the tab on the left hand side.

If you want to keep any existing new line formatting, click this icon HRS_KeepExistingLineFormatting.  It will show the current line (or any highlighted lines) in orange and ensure that each line of the highlighted text is started on a new line when the text is processed. To remove new line formatting, click the icon again.

Click on the Process icon CF_Process to remove hard returns from your document.  The processed text will then appear in the 'Hard Returns Removed' tab.

To clear existing text from the editor, press the Clear icon CF_Clear.

To removes spaces at the beginning of each line, click in the CF_RemoveSpaces checkbox.

Once you have processed your document, right-click and you will get the following menu with various options for your processed document.

NB: When stripping hard returns from documents, the conversion may not be 100% correct.  You can always rectify problems by adding a blank line betwen any lines that need to be in separate paragraphs.
